Introducing teamwork and parenting

Parents and Teamwork - making parenting easier is an information series designed to help parents understand how adult relationships affect children and parenting.

Being a parent brings many new challenges and responsibilities, including caring for a child. It can also bring dramatic changes to your relationships with adults. You and your partner will face new and ongoing challenges as you tackle the issues of raising children together. Your relationships with your friends and family will also change.

The Parents and Teamwork series is designed to help partners maintain strong, healthy long-term relationships when they become parents. And to make raising children easier.

The ideas in this series use teamwork principles of good communication, problem solving and conflict resolution. They will help you and your partner work together to raise children in a way that strengthens relationships and minimises conflict. The principles will help parents in all types of family environments, including single parents, same-sex parents, and after separation or divorce. You can also adapt them to your other adult relationships, including carers, friends and extended families.

Start with the introduction, and then work through the topics as they interest you.
