Violence in the Media
This paper, Violence in the Media: its effects on children, is an edited version of a keynote presentation by Professor Anderson, a leading researcher in the effects of violent media on children.
The seminar was hosted by the Parenting Research Centre and Young Media Australia in 2003. Professor Anderson, Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of Psychology at Iowa State University in the USA, explored the effects of violence in the media on children and their families.
Violence in the Media is of particular interest to parents of children and young people, to practitioners working with families and to those with responsibility for the development of policies and programs for families with children.
