The popular tip sheets and videos from the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) have been used by professionals in their work with families for over a decade and are now available in CD-ROM and DVD formats. Victorian parents and child health professionals can now download the tip sheets from our CD-ROMs and watch the DVDs that show positive approaches to managing children’s behaviour and promoting the development of social skills. Selected parent tip sheets and the Positive Parenting Booklet are available in a range of community language translations.

The popular tip sheets that professionals have used in their work with families is now available in CD-ROM format. The new Positive Parenting Program (PPP) CD-ROM provides Victorian child health workers and other welfare professionals with an extensive range of information resources to use in their work with families.
Practical and proven strategies are provided for helping parents build relationships with their children, teach children new skills and promote the development of social skills. Strategies also cover challenging situations like homework and behavioural problems at school, and common difficulties such as tantrums, sleeping problems and fighting.
This CD-ROM contains a library of resources from the well known Positive Parenting Program, together with guidance for professionals, including:

- strategies for using the resources in consultation with parents
- a guide to cross-cultural consultation
- strategies for using the resources with parents who speak a language other than English

The Positive Parenting audio visual guides provide Victorian child health professionals and parents with a positive approach to managing children's behaviour and promoting the development of social skills. The four guides explain and demonstrate a range of practical and proven strategies that can be used in challenging situations and in managing common difficulties such as tantrums. The guides also show how to establish routines for typical daily events such as bedtime and going shopping.
The two-disc resource covers the following topics:
- Positive Parenting Introduction: An introduction to the causes of behaviour problems, ways to encourage desirable behaviour, how to teach new skills and how to manage undesirable behaviour
- Positive Parenting of Infants and Toddlers: An outline of the important developmental changes occurring in children at this age, and strategies for managing tantrums, crying, bedtime and eating
- Positive Parenting of Preschoolers: Strategies on how to deal with four common situations typical for this age group: separation problems, fighting and aggression, visitors, going shopping
- Positive Parenting of Primary Schoolers: Strategies on how to deal with common primary school-age concerns, such as chores, homework, lying and fears.

This CD-ROM provides convenient storage and access to over 170 translations of selected Parent Tip Sheets and the Positive Parenting Booklet. The tip sheets and booklet are available in eight community languages including Chinese, Cambodian, Macedonian, Spanish, Somali, Turkish, Arabic and Vietnamese (English is not available on this CD). The CD is easy to use and comes complete with installation instructions, and detailed information for practitioners providing cross-cultural parenting support.
