Intensive Family Support Service
We are working closely with family support agencies in the Northern Territory to design, develop and implement a new service that targets vulnerable families.
The PRC and the Menzies School of Health Research are developing an intensive family support service to families in which a child aged 0-12 has been identified as having high risk or is experiencing neglect.
Using our unique approach to knowledge exchange and implementation, we are working with agencies to design, develop and implement a new, evidence-based family support service targeted to families that are known to child protection and are subject to Child Protection Income Management.
The project also involves an extensive review of the available literature and an intensive collaboration process that will ensure its proper contextualisation and implementation.
This project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. Our major partner is the Menzies School of Health Research who we are developing the intervention with in collaboration with 21 local agencies. The first three agencies involved are Good Beginnings, Save the Children and the Department of Children and Families.
