Helping parents and carers build resilience in children and teenagers
15 March, 2022
There’s a lot going on in the world right now and children and teenagers might need some help to deal with feelings of anxiety and build resilience.
As mentioned on ABC News this week, the Parenting Research Centre is a trusted place for parents and carers to find evidence-based information to help them help their family thrive.
The Parenting Research Centre is a partner in raisingchildren.net.au – an independent website that provides free, reliable and up-to-date information to help parents and carers who might need guidance on how to talk to their children and teenagers – especially during turbulent times.
The Raising Children Network website has a suite of articles to help families navigate the COVID-19 pandemic – including tips for parents whose children might be anxious about attending school or activities during this time.
There are also resources to help parents talk to their children and teenagers who might be distressed by, or need help to interpret, media stories about disasters and other traumatic events currently in the news.
The Raising Children Network has also developed the Raising Healthy Minds app – a free app that answers your questions about child wellbeing and shares practical tips for family life. The app helps parents and carers to build their child’s wellbeing, encouraging positive behaviour and emotions and strengthening family relationships.
