Maree Walk joins Parenting Research Centre Board

The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Maree Walk as a non-executive Board member.
Ms Walk has more than 30 years’ leadership experience in child and family services, and a proven track record as a coach and mentor. She was Chief Executive of Community Services NSW, Deputy Secretary of Family and Community Services NSW, and General Manager, Operations at The Benevolent Society.
Ms Walk is currently the Director of StoryRoad, a consultancy that works with non-government organisations and government agency executives on coaching, projects, writing, facilitating, strategic leadership and support. She is also on the Board of City West Housing and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
PRC Chair Andrew Hume said Ms Walk’s extensive leadership in community services will be an ongoing asset to the PRC.
“Maree adds to the depth of knowledge on the Board at a time when our work has an increasing focus on driving effective support for parents experiencing disadvantage.”
In taking up the position, Ms Walk said:
“As someone who is passionate about innovation and collaboration achieving real change, I look forward to working with my new colleagues and the PRC team to help promote great outcomes for all families and children.”
Maree joins current board members Andrew Hume (Chair), Tracey Gibson (Deputy Chair), Marina Jury, Jason Whakaari, Tania Phillips, Cameron Smith and David Meagher.
