PRC Board announcement
Warren Cann to step down as CEO; staying on in an associate capacity
Parenting Research Centre (PRC) CEO Warren Cann has announced that after 21 years in the role, he will be stepping down as CEO in the coming months and shifting into a new senior associate role.
Warren’s decision was made during strategic discussions with the board and executive over the past 12 months.
“I am excited by the board’s plans to invest in the development of the organisation and explore ways of scaling our impact,” he said.
“In thinking about how I could best contribute to this future, I felt the time was right for me personally and for the organisation to pass the baton to the next generation of leaders, while continuing to support the design and development of strategic initiatives.”
“My passion for realising practical and sustainable ways of achieving evidence-based practice in community settings remains as strong as ever, and I look forward to continuing to work with clients, partners, colleagues and the new CEO, once appointed, in driving this agenda forward.”
With a view to a seamless transition, Warren will stay in the role until a new CEO has been appointed.
PRC Board Chair Maree Walk said Warren has grown a successful and impactful organisation during his 21 years at the helm.
“Throughout Warren’s tenure as CEO, he has led his incredible team to help governments and community agencies put the best scientific evidence on parenting and family support into action,” she said.
“The Board is very supportive of his decision to transition to a new role, and we’re grateful to have Warren’s experience and expertise guide us as we move into a new phase focused on increasing our reach and impact. It will be a terrific new chapter for Warren and for PRC.”
The PRC Board will oversee an executive search to recruit the organisation’s next CEO and is grateful for the extended timeframe to allow for a smooth transition to new leadership.
