PRC Board announcement
30 January 2024
The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) Board is delighted to announce that Mr Rob Ryan has been appointed as the organisation’s CEO, commencing in early February 2024.
Rob will bring to PRC his extensive experience in the community services sector. He most recently held a senior role at Life Without Barriers, and prior to that, he was CEO of Key Assets, an international children’s services provider. He has also held senior roles in the Department of Child Safety in the Queensland State Government over a period of 19 years. Rob has also held Chair, Director and Deputy Convenor roles across a range of Boards and National Advisory Groups.
PRC Board Chair Maree Walk said the Board particularly welcomes Rob’s wealth of leadership experience, along with his business acumen, fresh ideas and loads of passion.
“We’re thrilled to have Rob joining us, not only because of his extensive sector experience, but also because of his knowledge of the important work of PRC. Rob worked with us in developing one of our first-ever practice frameworks, and PRC staff have also shared the stage with him at various sector events over recent years,” she said.
“We look forward to Rob joining PRC this February.”
Incoming CEO Rob Ryan said he is looking forward to working with the PRC team to support parents and help build a community that values parenting.
“Helping children and their families thrive has been at the core of what I’ve done throughout my career, so I’m eager to build on this through the evidence-based work of the Parenting Research Centre in this role,” he said.
“I’m also looking forward to partnering with colleagues across Australia and internationally to build on the great work of the PRC and explore opportunities to collaborate with the passionate and dedicated people who make a huge impact in the lives of children, young people and families.
Maree said she and the Board would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Warren for all he has done as CEO.
“We are so pleased to retain Warren’s skills and knowledge as he moves into a new senior associate role at PRC,” said Maree.
“Rob inherits an incredible team who will continue to help governments and community agencies put into action the best scientific evidence on parenting and family support.”
