Filling the knowledge gap on how parents are faring

The Parenting Today in Victoria survey is the most comprehensive look at the concerns, needs and behaviours of Victorian parents ever conducted.

In 2016, 2019 and 2022, we asked 2600 parents more than 100 questions – and what we found fills essential gaps in our knowledge about how parents are coping and their relationships with their children.

How parents are faring is critical to delivering better outcomes for children

Over the course of the three surveys, we’re getting important insight into how parents are doing.

These findings are already being used by those designing policy and delivering services. And, as we continue to collect this information over time, we can measure progress and provide the information required to develop tools and interventions that support parents and families.

This research project has been commissioned and funded by the Victorian Government.
